Windows Vista shutting down while configuring updates
Im currently working on a friend's PC that keeps shutting down while configuring 3/3 updates, it displays Configuring 3/3 updates, 0%., but then after a couple of seconds the computer just shuts down for no reason, i've tried updating it to windows 7 using an installation disk, but because i can't actually logon and install win 7, it doesn't work. But the installation disk does provide me with an command prompt, but i have no idea how i could solve this problem using a cmd.
System spec:
Windows Vista Home Basic
1 GB RAM
Intel Celeron 420
80 GB HDD
