Attorneys in China: IBISWorld Report Now Updated

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 28, 2012

Revenue within the Attorneys industry in China increased by an estimated 10.6% in 2011 to $ 6.11 billion, with annualized growth of 11.8% since 2006. Slower growth in 2010 was the result of the global financial crisis, with individuals and households limiting expenditure on legal issues.

The number of law firms in China increased steadily in the past few years, from 13,593 in 2007 to a forecast 15,600 in 2011. Over 70% of law firms in China are partnerships. They provide legal services for litigation in civil, commercial and criminal actions. Non-litigious legal services such as those for mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcies and IPOs are becoming an important part of many businesses.

Large Chinese law firms are developing international businesses through partnerships with foreign law firms. Some have established offices in foreign countries. Most law firms are located in China's major cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, where many client businesses are active and large corporate clients are headquartered.

IBISWorld estimates that revenue in 2016 will amount to $ 9.87 billion, increasing at an average annualized rate of 10.1%.
